Lucciola began as a single oven on a side-street in Oltrarno, kept warm through the winter of 2014 by Nonna Rosaria and her grandson Tommaso. She brought the dough; he brought the firewood. The neighbours brought their appetite.
Today the room holds twenty-eight seats, three generations, and a single rule: no pizza leaves the oven that we wouldn't serve to our own family. Our flour is milled in Altamura, our tomatoes are picked in Sarno, our basil grows on the windowsill above the bar.
We are a small place. We mean to stay that way.
